சினத்தை விளைக்காததும், உண்மையுடையதும், இனியதும், நலங்கருதியதுமாகிய சொல்லல், கல்விப் பயிற்சி இவை வாக்குத் தவமெனப்படும்.
anudvega-karaṁ vākyaṁ satyaṁ priya-hitaṁ cha yat svādhyāyābhyasanaṁ chaiva vāṅ-mayaṁ tapa uchyate
